Longform Packages

Below are some of my longform packages that showcase unique interviews and a deeper dive into topics that have a meaningful impact in our nation and around the world.

What constitutes an American patriot? How do we honor them? As Women's History Month came to a close & we reflected on the birth & death of Harriet Tubman, I thought what better way to mark the end of March. I spoke with Tubman's great-great-great-grandniece and Historian Kate Larson about Tubman gracing the new $20 bill. They hope to have it ready by her bicentennial.

I interviewed Oscar-winning creator

Matthew A. Cherry about how his short, animated film "Hair Love" has impacted the Black community and the nation as a whole amid momentum with The Crown Act.

Companies and states encouraged people to learn about, celebrate and reflect on Black history and culture on June 19 amid a national reckoning with systemic racism. I spoke with a professor who specializes in African Diaspora Studies about what Juneteenth means, especially during this time.

Newsy spoke with people on several sides of the issue about what the massive blaze means for their livelihoods. I translated the interviews and crafted a story to share the experiences of indigenous people and how the record year of fires' impacted them.

Hong Kong Polytechnic University was turned into a fortified camp when demonstrators barricaded themselves in amid battles with police. I sifted through files of footage to craft the most compelling and meaningful story.
